Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Immigration Solutions ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Bot Connector mobile application for iOS (the "App") and the website at bot-connector.com (the "Site"). The App is a privacy tunnelling client. Our overarching design principle is simple: the App processes as little personal information as possible, and what little it processes either stays on your device, flows only to services you have chosen yourself, or is collected anonymously and in aggregate for the limited purposes described below. Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Use.
1. Information We Collect
We do not have user accounts, we do not require sign-up, and we do not operate a backend service to which the App reports your tunnel traffic. We do, however, collect a limited amount of anonymised, aggregated information about how the App is installed and used so that we can fix bugs, measure stability, and understand the scale of usage.
(a) Anonymised app analytics (Yandex AppMetrica). The App embeds the Yandex AppMetrica software development kit, operated by YANDEX LLC and its affiliated entities. Through AppMetrica, the App reports anonymised installs, sessions, app and OS version, device model, locale, network type, approximate region derived from IP, custom events that mark generic flows (such as "subscription added" without the URL itself), and crash and error reports including stack traces. AppMetrica does not receive your name, email address, account credentials, the contents or addresses of the servers you configure, the URLs of your subscriptions, your routing rules, or any of your tunnel traffic. AppMetrica is configured without an advertising identifier (IDFA). Where the App uses Apple's IDFV (an identifier scoped to our vendor account), it is used solely to deduplicate sessions and is not linked to any account or external profile.
(b) Apple App Store Connect. Apple provides us, as the developer of the App, with aggregated install, retention, and crash statistics through Apple's App Store Connect dashboard. These statistics are produced by Apple, governed by Apple's privacy practices, and made available to us only in aggregated form. The App itself does not transmit anything to App Store Connect; the data flow is entirely between your device's iOS and Apple.
(c) Apple "Share With App Developers" crash diagnostics. If you have opted in to the iOS-wide "Share With App Developers" setting, Apple may deliver anonymised, aggregated crash diagnostics to us through Apple's standard developer-reports mechanism. We do not control what Apple includes in those reports; please consult Apple's privacy documentation for details. This stream is independent of, and parallel to, the AppMetrica stream described above.
(d) Site analytics. The Site uses a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics tool (currently Plausible or Umami, self-hosted or operated by us) to count aggregate page visits, referrers, country at country-level granularity, and basic device class. The Site does not set tracking cookies, does not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising tags, social-media trackers, or chat widgets that load tracking code, and does not link Site visits to any App user.
We do not knowingly collect any other category of personal information through the App or the Site.
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described in Section 1 only for the following purposes:
- to count how many times the App is installed and used, in aggregate;
- to identify, reproduce, and fix software defects, including crashes and errors;
- to understand which features are exercised at all so that we can prioritise maintenance;
- to understand the geographic and device distribution of users at country and device-class level so that we can prioritise bug fixes that affect specific platforms or locales;
- to operate, maintain, and improve the Site, including by understanding which pages are useful;
- to comply with our legal obligations and to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse of the Service.
We do not use the information for advertising, behavioural profiling, individual user scoring, sale to third parties, or any commercial profiling. We do not enrich the information with data from other sources, do not link it to user accounts (we have none), and do not attempt to re-identify individuals from aggregate data. We will not begin using information for any purpose materially different from those described in this Policy without first updating this Policy and giving you notice.
For users in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, and other jurisdictions where the General Data Protection Regulation or comparable regimes apply, our legal basis for the processing described above is our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the App and the Site (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR / EU GDPR, where applicable), balanced against your interests through the strict minimisation, anonymisation, and lack of advertising use described throughout this Policy.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, lease, license, or otherwise share personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. The data flows that involve third parties are limited to the following processors and platform operators, each of whom is bound by their own privacy commitments and, where applicable, by data-processing terms:
- YANDEX LLC and affiliates (Yandex AppMetrica): processes the anonymised app analytics described in Section 1(a) on our behalf for the limited purposes described in Section 2. AppMetrica's own privacy and data-processing terms apply to that processing.
- Apple Inc.: distributes the App, operates the iOS platform, and produces the App Store Connect statistics and "Share With App Developers" reports described in Sections 1(b) and 1(c). Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's own policies, which we do not control.
- Plausible / Umami operator: processes Site analytics on our behalf, in cookieless and aggregate form, for the limited purposes described in Section 2.
We may disclose information in our possession if we are legally required to do so by a binding court order or other valid legal process, or if disclosure is reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent fraud or abuse of the Service. Any such disclosure will be limited to what the law actually requires.
4. Data Retention
We retain anonymised AppMetrica analytics for the period AppMetrica retains it on our behalf under its own retention terms (typically rolling windows measured in months, not years). Apple-produced statistics are retained for the period Apple retains them in App Store Connect. Site analytics are retained in aggregated, non-identifying form for the period needed to observe trends, typically up to 24 months. We do not retain any of this material in identifiable form, because none of it is collected in identifiable form.
The App stores its own state (server configurations, subscription URLs, routing rules, last-known statistics) on your device only. Sensitive items such as private keys and passwords are stored using the iOS Keychain. Other configuration items are stored in the App's iOS sandbox. None of this material is uploaded by the App to any server controlled by Immigration Solutions or any third party. When you uninstall the App, iOS deletes its sandbox and removes the App's Keychain entries; this effectively erases any data the App was holding for you.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to, marketed to, or designed for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that personal information of a child under 13 has somehow been provided to us, we will delete it as promptly as reasonably possible. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that a child under your care has provided personal information to us through the Service, please contact us at the address in the "Contact" section so that we can take appropriate action.
6. International Transfers
The anonymised analytics described in Section 1(a) are processed by YANDEX LLC and its affiliates, whose infrastructure may be located outside your country of residence (including, depending on the AppMetrica deployment, the Russian Federation and the European Union). The Site analytics described in Section 1(d) may be processed in the country where our self-hosted instance runs or where the operator we have selected runs its infrastructure. Apple's data flows are governed by Apple's own international-transfer practices.
Network traffic that you choose to route through your own servers via the App may, of course, traverse international links. But that traffic flows between your device and the servers you have configured, not between your device and any server we control. The choice of where your traffic goes is yours; this Policy does not cover, and we do not control, the data-handling practices of the operators of the servers you connect to. You should review the terms and policies of any subscription or server provider you choose to use.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights under applicable data-protection law (including, where applicable, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and similar regimes) to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that a controller holds about you. Because the data we collect is anonymised and aggregated, we generally cannot link it back to you as an individual; in practice, this means that there is no individually identifiable record for us to access, correct, or delete. You may also object to the processing described above, in which case we will stop processing the relevant data unless we have an overriding legitimate ground.
If you are using the App and would like to opt out of the AppMetrica analytics described in Section 1(a), use the in-App setting that disables analytics where the App provides one, or contact us at the address in the "Contact" section. You may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country of residence (for users in the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office).
8. Cookies and Analytics
The Site does not set tracking cookies and does not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising tags, social-media trackers, fingerprinting libraries, or chat widgets that load tracking code. The Site uses a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics tool (Plausible or Umami) to count aggregate page visits and basic device class as described in Section 1(d). A small number of strictly necessary technical cookies or local-storage entries may be set by the Site to remember your preferred locale or theme; these are not used for tracking.
The App, as described in Section 1(a), uses Yandex AppMetrica for anonymised app analytics. The App does not load tracking pixels or web beacons.
9. Third-Party Services
The App and the Site rely on a small set of third-party components and services:
- Apple Inc. operates the App Store from which the App is distributed and the iOS platform on which it runs; Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's own policies.
- The open-source sing-box library provides the protocol and routing implementation; sing-box runs entirely inside the App on your device and does not phone home to any service controlled by sing-box's authors or by us.
- YANDEX LLC and affiliates provide Yandex AppMetrica, used as described in Sections 1(a), 3, and 6.
- Plausible or Umami operator provides Site analytics, used as described in Sections 1(d), 3, and 6.
We may, at our discretion, replace any of the analytics processors named above with a comparable, privacy-respecting alternative, and will update this Policy when we do so.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we publish a material change, we will increment the version number recorded at the top of this document and update the effective date. The current version and effective date are also exposed by a metadata endpoint on the Site, which the App may consult in order to prompt you to review or re-accept this Policy. Non-material changes, such as fixes to typos or formatting, may be made without bumping the version. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
11. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about our data-handling practices, please contact us at ab@immigration-solutions.space. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can. Please include the version of this Policy you are referring to (currently 1.1) and a clear description of your question or concern so that we can help you efficiently.
